At 8 mm thick, these tiles provide a solid pin-holding layer for everyday notice board use. The guide below covers the pin types best suited to this thickness, so your pins stay secure and do not pass through to the wall behind.

⚠️ Using Longer Pins?

If you need to use pins with a shaft longer than 8 mm (e.g. map pins, hat pins), install the tiles over a 12 mm MDF or plywood backing board first. The combined depth (8 mm cork + 12 mm board = 20 mm) will contain even the longest standard pins and protect your wall.

✅ Backing Recommendations

• Short push-pins ≤ 6 mm shaft: Glue directly to the wall — no additional backing needed.
• Map pins or long pins > 8 mm shaft: Mount on a 12 mm MDF or plywood panel first, then glue the cork tile to the panel.
• High-traffic boards or heavy items: Use a backing board regardless of pin length for extra rigidity.
